Introduction To Traditional Barbering

$875 + tax

Learn the basic cutting techniques used by professional barbers. Recommended for people who have no hair cutting experience and/or are interested in pursuing Traditional Barbering.

During this course you will acquire the following fundamental knowledge and skills:

  • Equipment
  • Haircut styles
  • Scissor techniques
  • Clipper techniques
  • Combing techniques

Students will receive a mannequin head, a pair of barbering scissors and a pair of thining shears. All other tools will be provided by the Training Centre.

Students will receive a Certificate upon successful completion (click here for note 1).

Traditional Barbering

$1495 + tax

Further your skills and learn techniques used by professional barbers. This course includes:

  • Work on mannequins.
  • Practice on real models under the guidance of our professional instructors.
  • Job shadowing at any of Imperial Barber Shop locations in Ottawa.

    Completion of this course will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to enter or enhance your professional career as a barber.

    • Shaving techniques

    Do I need a license to be a barber?

    No. There is no Barber Licensing in Canada. You can work without a license in any establishment as long as it does not provide chemical services (ie: colouring, perms, etc). Although there is no certification for Barbers, we have used our 100 years of experience to create courses which will help you become a Professional Barber.
